System Configuration
A user must have the View and Manage Configurations permission to view the System Configuration settings under the Admin tab, and to modify configuration settings for FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications and the FlexNet Platform Server.
To view and modify FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications configuration settings:
- From the Admin tab, under **System Configuration, **click the link for the configuration settings you want to change, or click Show All to see all of the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications configuration settings.
- Make your configuration changes.
- Click Save .
The following table describes the configuration pages available beneath the Admin tab, under the System Configuration heading.

| FlexNet Platform Server | Contains the settings for configuring the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Admin server. |
| Reporting | Configuration settings related to the reporting engine and reporting functionality. |
| Planner | Configuration for Investment Planner functionality (available under the Planner tab). |
| LUM | Settings that enable the display of LUM-specific functionality in the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications user interface. |
| User Interface | Configuration settings related to how items are displayed in the user interface. |
| Validators | Validators settings enable you to configure validation settings, including password requirements. |
| Manager | Settings that are specific to how information is displayed and which functionality is supported. This page also contains settings to enable connection to FlexNet Manager Platform. |
| Import | Enables you to import all FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications settings, using a .zip file. |
| Export | Enables you to export all FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications settings to a .zip file. |

Some settings, including the connection of the application to a database, are configurable using the FlexNet Configurator, but not through the user interface. See the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Installation Guide for instructions to use the FlexNet Configurator.
