Configuring the FlexNet Platform Server

The FlexNet Platform Server page contains settings to configure the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Admin server.

A user must be assigned a role with the View and Manage Configurations permission to modify configuration settings for the FlexNet Platform Server through the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications interface.

Before changing any configuration settings in FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications, export the working configuration settings. If there are any issues with the new settings, you have a backup of working settings to restore.

To change FlexNet Platform Server configuration settings:

  1. From the Admin tab, under **System Configuration, **click FlexNet Platform Server to open the configuration page for the FlexNet Platform Server.
  2. Change the values of the settings as needed. If a default value exists, it is listed as the first choice. Required settings are identified in the interface by a red asterisk (*).

Outbound Mail AccountMail account to use for mail sent from FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications; typically left blank. Value is required only if the outbound mail server requires account authentication.
Outbound Mail Password (Confirm)Password to use for Outbound Mail Account.
From-Address for Outbound Mailflexnet-server or specifyEmail sent from FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications is sent from this email address.
FlexNet Application Logging ThresholdInformational Messages, Warnings, Errors, Debug MessagesThe maximum level of detail for the messages written to the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications log file. Only messages at or below the selected level of detail will appear in the log.
FlexNet Application Performance LoggingSelected or clearedSelect to enable performance logging in the application.
Session Timeout30 or specifyIf a user has been inactive for the specified amount of time (minutes), the user must log in to FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications again.
Consecutive Failed Authentications3 or specifyNumber of consecutive failed attempts to log in before a non-shared user is deactivated. These attempts are counted over the Time Period for Failed Authorizations.
Time Period for Failed Authorizations1440 or specifyAmount of time (minutes) during which Consecutive Failed Authentications are allowed before a non-shared user is deactivated.
  1. Click Save Configurations .
