Adding Groups

If a directory service domain is configured in FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications, groups can be imported from the directory service and assigned roles. Membership in a group is managed entirely through a directory service, therefore, a user entered manually through FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications cannot be made a member of a group. Groups cannot be created manually through FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications.

A user who has permissions in FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications only because he is a member of a FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications group does not appear in the Users view.

Users assigned a role with the View and Manage Users permission can view, add, and edit FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications groups.

To import a group from a directory service:

  1. From the Admin tab, under Users , click Show Groups to display the** ** Groups page.
  2. Click the Add Group button above the Groups table.

Click Next .
  5. The group to be imported is displayed. Leave the Status of the new group Active. Assign at least one role to the group.
