Installation Process

The complete process of installation is a multi-stage process, and consists of the following steps. Each of these steps is detailed in subsequent sections in this chapter.

Before performing the installation, review Installing FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications .

1. Identify the hosts on which you will install the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting component and the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting database.

2. Run the FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting installer.
3. Create an empty FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications Reporting database.

   • If you are using Oracle, you need to create a tablespace for the Reporting database. See the section, Configuring Oracle, in Configuring Database Servers for FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications.

4. Configure the Reporting component. After installation, some additional configuration steps may be required. See Configuring FlexNet Manager for Engineering Applications.
